EXO Addresses Their Fans: 'If You Really Love Us, Refrain From Invading Our Private Lives'

EXO addresses their overzealous fans
EXO has been in the news a lot lately, but not just because of their music.
The twelve-member Korean-Chinese boy group may have only debuted last year, but they have already generated an enormous fanbase.
That is not news it itself, but the extreme behavior portrayed by some of these fans certainly is.

EXO has found themselves in the midst of a war, so to speak. The members have had their personal lives invaded and even their physical safety put in jeopardy due to the great lengths some of these fans go to in order to get close to the idols.
In an interview on August 13 EXO shared their frustrations over the situation and pleaded with these fans.
"Our personalities have even changed because of our victim mentality," explained a disheartened D.O, a sentiment shared by his group mates.
These overzealous fans, known as 'sasaeng fans' in Korean (meaning 'private life fans' - essentially stalkers), have been known to destroy property, hire special drivers to help them follow the group members around, sneak into bathrooms or other private locations, and cause an air of mayhem where ever they go.
Because of the extremely dangerous behavior exhibited by these fans, EXO has had to change or delay their travel plans and promotional activities, increase their security, and in general, fear for their own safety and well-being.
With no real end to this madness in sight, Suho addressed the group's fans.
"We would appreciate your support at concerts and official events. Although we are grateful for your never ending support, we also have our own personal lives," he said.
"If you all really love us, we hope that you will understand and refrain from invading our private lives."
