Actor Hyun Bin Claims He Didn't Want To Cry When He Greeted Thousands Of Fans For The First Time Following His Military Discharge

South Korean actor Hyun Bin claims he had planned not to cry last December when he first saw the thousands of fans gathered to greet him on the day he was honorably discharged following his 21 months of military service in the Marine Corps.

It just happened.

"My plan failed," Hyun told the publication @star1 on Saturday.

"I couldn't control my emotions. I thought to myself that even if a situation like that [happened]; I was determined not to let myself cry. But I unknowingly shed tears."

Hyun said it didn't take long after he saw the giant crowd of adoring fans standing in the cold, to lose his composure.

"Even when I was giving my first bow, while bowing my head and looking at the floor, I was already on the verge of tears," he said.

"But I held it in. But maybe because my heart was so glad to return to my original place, I unknowingly shed tears. Honestly, I had a deep longing to act again. I think my heart realized it before my head.

All eligible males between the ages of 18 and 35 must enroll for roughly two years of army service in South Korea (the length of mandatory enrollment changes by several months depending on which branch of the military that they serve in) in a practice known as conscription.

"Thank you to all the media and fans who have made it here despite the snow and difficult conditions," Hyun told the thousands of fans assembled on that cold December day, according to the website allkpop.

"Having received so much encouragement and interest from everyone before enlisting, I started my life as a soldier with a happy heart, and due to the consistent support and energy that you have all sent me even after enlisting, I think I am able to now stand here alright and healthy."

The star of the 2010 television show "Secret Garden" confessed to deeply missing the profession that made him famous while he was in the service.

"I wanted to act so badly," Hyun told the crowd.

"Since I couldn't act during my vacations, I'd go to places where [young people] were acting and would watch them and think about it."

"But now, the time has come for me to be able to act again, and as much as everyone has waited for me, I want to work hard in preparing to show you the acting I've wanted to do," he added.

"I have stored all the energy that I've received as a soldier, so I will return energy back to everyone."

Hyun's acting comeback will be in the period film "The King's Wrath," according to the Korea Joong Ang Daily.

The two co-stars of the upcoming film “Cold Eyes” (or “Surveillance“) showed explosive chemistry in this photo shoot with overflowing charisma. In the film, Jung Woo Sung plays the leader of a criminal group and Han Hyo Joo plays a detective in a police squad.

After the photo shoot, the two actors sat down for an interview where they shared their thoughts on working together. Jung Woo Sung commented, “This entire film is led by Han Hyo Joo’s character. It all begins with Han Hyo Joo’s character joining the surveillance team. While her boss (played by Seol Kyung Gu) nags her to do this and that, a big case unfolds and they start to hunt down the criminals,” and “Since Seol Kyung Gu plays the boss of the police squad and I play the boss of the gangster squad, it may seem like there are three total main leads. But the main lead of this film is Han Hyo Joo.”

Han Hyo Joo stated, “Each time I work on a project, I gain something. But this time, I learned how to survive among the men. I thought that I should become like a man too. Filming this movie was so fun and delightful,” and “Doing interviews with Jung Woo Sung is especially fun because he makes the atmosphere so bright and warm. Seol Kyung Gu senior and I just laugh the whole time.”

Ivy and Han Hyo Joo Were Roommates for Four Years Before Debut

Ivy recently shared a story of her trainee days when she was roommates with actress Han Hyo Joo!

On June 24, Ivy was a guest for “Hong Jin Kyung’s 2 o’Clock” radio show and said, “When I was a trainee, I lived with Han Hyo Joo.”

Ivy and Han Hyo Joo used to belong to the same agency at one point. However, Ivy is currently in Polaris Entertainment while Han Hyo Joo is in BH Entertainment.

Ivy shared, “Han Hyo Joo was quite a unique person. I like mainstream films while she likes indie films or art films,” and “When I watched films with her, I used to just stop watching because I couldn’t understand it.”

When she was asked if she ever thought about living witih Han Hyo Joo again, Ivy answered, “Now we have our own separate work and we made a lot of money so I don’t think that will happen.”

Previously, Ivy revealed that she and Han Hyo Joo were roommates for four years on “Strong Heart.”

During that particular episode, Ivy revealed, “I lived with Han Hyo Joo for four years before I debuted. Even when we just debuted, we watched each other on TV and gave each other a lot of advice — we were best friends.”

When will G-Dragon be releasing his solo album?

On August 18 2009, G-Dragon released his first solo album with the celebration of his 21st birthday.

This year, he is planning to unveil another solo regular album on the same date as 4 years ago.

Just like the first album, he will be in charge of composing and writing every song, plus the album production.
The album will consist of 10 songs.

This weekend marks the finale of his grand solo World Tour. For the past few months
G-Dragon has been performing 25 times around the world, and the ending will be held in Singapore.
As soon as he crosses the finish line of his World Tour, he will be devoting his whole energy on another project,
which includes his album jacket shooting and wrapping-up process of his 2nd solo regular album.

His 2nd regular album is like pulling out a diamond from a treasure box
because the album was already in the process of making when a mini album was released last September.

What is special about G-Dragon's 2nd solo album?

With the 2nd solo album, what we decided to do was to have one legendary foreign artist
feature in it rather than have several. There were many male rappers on the list,
but what YG was looking for was a female rapper – and there was just one. We found the answer so quickly
and we were unanimous on choosing this artist.

And she is – Missy Elliott.

If you know a tiny bit about hip-hop, you would know this legendary artist.
I feel that an introduction of her is unnecessary as everyone knows her, so here's a very simple background.
She is a hip-hop legend who produced a huge number of big hits that set her apart from other artists.
If you are unfamiliar with hip-hop, just take a peek of her songs "Get Ur Freak On" and "Work It" on YouTube,
and you will recognize her in a matter of seconds.

Missy Elliott partnered with Timbaland, and their amazing synergy produced the following songs:
1997 – SUPA DUPA FLY (Album): "The Rain"
2001 – MISS E… SO ADDICTIVE (Album): "Get Ur Freak On" and "One Minute Man"
2002 – UNDER CONSTRUCTION (album): "Gossip Folks" and "Work It"
2005 – The Cook Book (album): "Lose Control"
These songs put her on a global stardom, and the musicians she teamed up with also include
top-notch artists like 50 Cent, Jay Z., Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, and Mary J. Blige.
But unfortunately she had to stop everything abruptly for health reasons,
which halted all music related activities including releasing another album.

This is why it was extra difficult for G-Dragon to ask her to feature in his song.

For the last several months, YG has spared no effort in asking Missy Elliott to feature in G-Dragon's song.
We have been sending her G-Dragon-related information including his songs. And finally,
we were able to win her interest for G-Dragon's creativity and music, and now she will be
featuring in G-Dragon's new solo album.

This track is a song by YG's main producer, Teddy, that has a very unique hip-hop beat like
other Missy Elliott's tracks. Missy Elliott and G-Dragon exchanged ideas extensively over the phone,
and they decided that G-Dragon would come up with the lyrics and rap for demonstration,
which will be given to Missy Elliott in the U.S., who will then add her own rap to complete the song.

G-Dragon's song featuring the female hip-hop legend breaks away from the convention
with a hint of Korean taste. The tinge of a voice sample from a Korean traditional folk song "Nilliliya"
makes it a one-of-a-kind, classy hip-hop track.

Diplo, the world-renowned DJ and a songwriter, who has been part of 'Knock Out',
will also be participating in this album.

Han Hye-jin reveals picture with Ki Seong-yong

Actress Han Hye-jin and groom-to-be Ki Seong-yong took pictures together.

Han Hye-jin appeared as a second anniversary guest on the SBS TV program, “Healing Camp”.

Han Hye-jin claimed the two of them called each other ‘honey’ and that they used the formal form of speaking to each other.

She then said she didn’t like taking pictures but the long distance relationship with Ki Seong-yong got her into the habit.

The two of them look very happy in the pictures. It’s hard to believe she is 8 years older than him.

Han Hye-jin said, “If I ask him how much he misses me in text he says that he misses me as much as the universe”.

Han Hye-jin and Ki Seong-yong are getting married in a hotel in Seoul this 1st of July and will leave for England together.

INFINITE shake things up for Pepsi in newest CF

INFINITE shook things up for Pepsi.

They recently inked an endorsement deal with the soft drink company and it didn't take long to film their commercial. In the CF, all the members held a can of Pepsi in their hands as they performed, keeping perfectly in sync with each other. At one point, the cans are even used to beat the drums. Apparently, whoever made the choreography missed the memo on what happens to cans of carbonated drinks when they're shaken up so badly.

2PM won the “Best Album of the Year” award at the MTV VMAJ 2013 held in Chiba, Japan on June 22 with their second studio album, “Legend of 2PM,” drawing in popularity with the music video for one of the album’s tracks, “Masquerade.” Carly Rae Jepsen, Linkin Park, One Direction, and Nishino Kana were fellow nominees for the award.

2PM, who were unable to attend the ceremony due to their concerts in Korea, gave their remarks through a video message. TVXQ Sells 140,000 Copies of New Japan Single in First Week

Group TVXQ’s 37th Japan single, OCEAN, has ranked number 2 on the Japan Oricon Weekly charts.

This album was released on June 12 and sold 88,428 copies on the first day. It sold 14,872 in the first week and showed their immense popularity.

Their song, “Ocean,” is a fun and upbeat dance song and has also been chosen as the June theme song for 4 popular entertainment program shows in Japan.

Another one of their songs from the album titled, “Wedding Dress” is also being used as a drama OST as well.

On the other hand, TVXQ, is currently still on their Japan dome tour. They will be performing at the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama on August 17-18 for their ‘TVXQ LIVE TOUR 2013 TIME’ finale performance.

This concert is to be held on July 14-15 at Yokohama Hall. This concert was created due to numerous fans requesting for an encore concert after their show in Kobe and Tokyo in May.

For their previous Kobe and Tokyo shows, they sold out of both shows instantly and showed the immense popularity of TEEN TOP in Japan.

One official stated, “Although TEEN TOP has not made an official debut in Japan, they are still selling out for their concerts and showing their popularity. We are excited to see what will happen when they do make their official debut.”

Previously in May, TEEN TOP held their ‘TEEN TOP No.1 Asia Tour’ in Tokyo and Kobe and had a successful performance for their fans.

Big Bang G-Dragon Finishes Malaysia Concert for Solo World Tour

Big Bang leader G-Dragon successfully finished his Malaysia concert for his solo world tour.

On June 22, G-Dragon held his solo concert at the Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil for his ‘ONE OF A KIND’ world tour.

G-Dragon entered the stage riding a sports car as the fans screamed his name. He sang many of his hit songs from “HEART BREAKER” to “MichiGO” as well as “That XX” and more for a total of 20 songs.

He was able to show many different sides of him through the various stage performances and melted the hearts of fans.

For this concert, he invited fellow Big Bang member Taeyang to perform with him on stage. G-Dragon also wore unique and interesting outfits as he is known as a fashion icon in the K-pop industry.

This ‘ONE OF A KIND’ world tour will be visiting 8 countries and performing 25 times. G-Dragon is working with world famous creative director Travis Payne as well as Stacy Walker. He is also working with stage designer Michael Cotten as well.

This world tour began in March and will now be heading off to Singapore next. He will be performing at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on June 29-30.

F.T. Island’s Lee Hongki Transforms into a Writer!

F.T. Island fans rejoice! Lee Hongki transformed into a writer. In a press release on June 24, Lee Hongki gave his thoughts on releasing “Lee Hongki’s Nail Book.” He stated, “I am happy to have my first book published. I hope that many people will read the book.”

The 144 page book contains a special photoshoot, different articles, and realistic tips. Even before its publish, the book has been garnering attention from professionals and the fashion industry as well.

The book also contains episodes that Lee Hongki wanted to show fans that are titled “The story of how I am communicating with nail art fans” and “Nail art that I have decided for fans.”

The book will be released in South Korea and in Japan on July 12. There is a special and normal version. Pre-orders will begin today on June 24.

F4 Member Kim Joon Makes A Fresh Start

In the drama "Boys Over Flowers," a pack of four rich and powerful students, known as F4, ruled and terrorized the students in their elite high school. The show was such a big hit that the actors/singers who played F4 were suddenly much in demand.

The careers of the first three actors seemed to derive the most benefit from the attention. Lee Min Ho, Kim Hyun Joong and Kim Joon quickly achieved star status, landing prized roles and boosting their singing careers.

But the fourth F4 actor, Kim Joon, kept the lowest profile after the show's 2009 end, making career choices that did not quite earn him stardom. He served on the cast of variety shows, including "Invincible Baseball Team," and "Mnet Scandal," a show where a celebrity dates a non-celebrity. He had a role in the musical "Youthful March" and starred in the drama "Homicide Division." In that drama, he played Shin Dong Jin, a detective who is better at cyber-investigations than real-life cases as he is terrified of corpses. The reviews for that drama performance were not all positive, with some reviewers saying he was miscast and should focus on comedy.

Kim Joon then began a master's degree on Global Culture Content at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, wanting to study the spread of Hallyu culture. Then in 2011, Kim enlisted for compulsory military service. Fans were beginning to wonder if he had given up on acting.

But he hasn't. He finished his military service this week and is ready for a fresh start to his career. To re-focus his career, Kim, 29, has signed on with a new talent agency, Chang Company.

According to the agency, the actor has plenty to offer.  He's attractive, can play a variety of roles and he has a good voice.

"He has many strengths that help him be a good actor, and he plans to continue to concentrate on acting," said a representative of the company.

Before Kim was honorably discharged from the military, he was already considering offers, including some roles in other countries.

"Offers are already pouring in, not only from Korea, but also other countries such as Japan and China, so we don't plan on holding back in our support for his career," the representative said.

Kim debuted as a rapper with the band T-Max in 2007. Their song, "Paradise" was featured in the first Boys Over Flowers soundtrack and other T-Max songs were added to subsequent soundtracks. The band broke up in 2011 shortly before he enlisted.

B.A.P Dominates German Chart for 17 Months Straight

Hot boy group B.A.P is proving to be an international force to be reckoned with.

B.A.P’s “One Shot” has remained at the number one spot for four months straight on the German Asian Music Chart. The group’s previous songs have also ranked high on the chart, putting B.A.P within the first ten spots for 17 months straight.

According to OSEN, B.A.P’s second mini album title song, “One Shot,” was first place on the German Asian Music Chart monthly results released June 22. This makes it four months straight for the song. B.A.P topped over other K-Pop artists likeG-Dragon, SHINee, Infinite, and EXO on this chart.

The German Asian Music Chart was founded in 2010 and the results are compiled based on fans’ votes, proving the popularity of a group within the country of Germany. With the track “No Mercy,” B.A.P won “This Year’s Song” and “Best Newcomer” on this chart last year.

In total, B.A.P has placed within the top ten for 17 months straight, ranked number one for four months, and placed number one six times in all on this music chart since their debut.

Soshi Rocks The House At AsiaXStyle Show In Singapore

At the inaugural AsiaXStyle fashion cum concert event held recently in Singapore, the Girls showed the power of K-Pop in action.

Held at the Singapore Expo Exhibition cum Convention Centre on the 22nd of June 2013, the event showcases the best of Asian fashion from Japan, Korea and Singapore. In spite of the hazy weather conditions days prior to the show, the actual day itself turned out to be surprising good, almost haze-free.

As expected, the highlight of the night’s activities was the appearance of the K-pop world’s royalties, SNSD and 2NE1. The moment the aforementioned groups appeared, utter pandemonium broke, literally (I was there to witness it in person). Despite all that, however, the 2 groups gave off a very impressive performance, even though some technical difficulties threatened to spoil the experience for the fans. Surprisingly, it even impressed the usually jaded entertainment reporters from our local daily English main paper, The Straits Times.

‘A Boy’s Sister’ earns festival invite

“A Boy’s Sister“, starring actress Seong Yoo-ri, has been invited to the 37th Montreal International Film Festival, according to the movie’s distributor on Friday.

The actress, who is currently playing a leading role in SBS drama “The Secret of Birth“, did not avoid showing herself without makeup or presenting a face that is full of bruises and bandages.

The movie, which had its local release in January, garnered international attention as it was invited to one of the most prestigious festivals in North America.

Seong plays Yunhee, a sister to a boy who dies while saving her when she almost drowned in a river during rainy season.

Due to her guilt, she has been unable to step outside whenever the season comes back and loses her job every year.

Then, a local bully named Jinho steals her wallet with her only photo of her brother, but they encounter each other again when Yunhee starts doing volunteer work at the school Jinho attends.

10 warning signs that indicate you're addicted to K-Pop

Whether intentionally or not, we've all stumbled across the KPop scene at one point or another. How dare I be so bold as to make such an observation? Well, you're reading this post, aren't you? Or you've scrolled down allkpop prior to your visiting the site today, no?

Guilty as charged. 

But in all fairness, if we measure the strides that KPop has taken within the past few years, it only makes sense that people of all ages - Yeah, I'm looking at you, uncle and ahjummah fans - are falling every which way for these idols. The echos of K-Pop have been heard rippling across the globe but given the caliber and marketability of these entertainers, we shouldn't even be that surprised.

Admittedly, we've all been there, and if anything, we're still as wonderstruck as we were the first time around. Now I've been familiar with KPop for a few years, and as such, I'd like to think that I have a pretty good idea of what we go through as young fangirls/boys.

5) It physically and emotionally pains you to see your beloved taking pictures, conversing, or congratulating other members of boy or girl groups.

7) This goes without saying, but your phone background has undoubtedly been a picture of your bias. So each time you check, you're just like:
