Muar: Haze worst ever hit this area when the Air Pollution Index (API) recorded the highest reading reached 519 at 8 o'clock last night.

He said the agency is Muar Municipal Council (MMC), the Land Office, the police, the District Education Office, Fire and Rescue Department, Public Health Service, Office of Agriculture, Road Transport Department (RTD) and the Department of Environment (DOE).

"MMC will conduct patrols and monitoring of the open fire in their respective administrative areas such as in landfills, a dumpster, and roadside construction site housing. They will also inform the fire brigade to extinguish fire, as well as spraying water on the main street and the building, "he said.

Abdul Rahman said the Land Office will direct the quarries and mines to limit activities to reduce the effects of haze, while the police will be on patrol to monitor open burning.

He said the District Education Office will provide advice to reduce activities outside of the classroom when the school opened, as well as identifying schools that have supplied to cover the nose and mouth.
