Starring in the movie, Scary Story 2, Sung Jun shared the hardships he faced while filming it.
“Because it’s the first time ever acting in a horror movie and also because it’s a movie that deals with the mentality of facing death, there were a lot of things I had a hard time with,” explained Sung Jun.
“I’ve never been stranded on a cliff and starved for a week, so to get into character, I actually tried starving myself for a long time and listened to really depressing music.”

Happy 5-Year Debut Anniversary to SHINee! A Trip Down Memory Lane For Their Best, Worst and Memorable

Happy 5th anniversary to SHINee’s debut!
Shawols, do you have any favorite memories from being a fan of the group and watching over them for five years?
Let’s travel back in time to review their best songs, worst scandals, special moments, and memorable quotes from each member!
BEST SONGS
Remember when the idol boy band first debuted with “Replay” on May 25, 2008? Five years ago, the song, also known as “Noona You’re So Pretty,” captured the attention of noona fans and helped the group win their first award, “Rookie of the Month” at the Cyworld Digital Music Awards.
Back in the days, they all looked so young and fresh, and Taemin at the time was only 15! Can you believe it?
After “Replay,” the boys came back with “Juliette.” Who could forget those insect costumes? Jonghyunand Minho wrote the lyrics for the song, and f(x)’s Krystal made an appearance in the song’s music video. Here’s a live performance video for you to re-watch!
Next, one of the best songs by SHINee was “Ring Ding Dong!” Shawols probably memorized the scenes of this music video by heart...Let’s watch Taemin randomly drink a glass of milk! Rocka rocka rocka…
“Lucifer,” which was released in 2010, was most likely the turning point for SHINee. Netizens and fans alike were extremely impressed by how the boys were able to sing each line perfectly while doing synchronized, complicated dance moves. It’s definitely safe to say that through this song, SHINee received great recognition as a talented sing/dance idol group!
Key and Taemin made dramatic hairstyle changes for this song. Key shaved half his head, and Taemin had hair extensions so long that people thought he resembled a girl...
More recently, “Sherlock” and “Dream Girl” were also great songs that showed off SHINee’s talents in singing and dancing. The most memorable moment with “Dream Girl” was when the managers of SM Entertainment made a dance cover video with mops as mic stands!
WORST SCANDALS
While SHINee achieved tremendous success with their songs, the boys have also experienced some scandals during the five years since their debut.
In 2010, the entire Shawols’ world was shocked and shaken up when Jonghyun was revealed to be dating actress Shin Se Kyung! After dating for nine months, the couple broke up because they both had busy schedules to attend to.
Other than Jonghyun, Onew was also swept up in a scandal recently when a picture of him with After School's Jungah surfaced. The two were rumored to be dating, and Onew was also caught smoking a supposed electronic cigarette. During this time, Onew was reprimanded for showing the middle finger to his fellow SHINee members as a joke during a radio broadcast and for wearing an offensive hat at the airport.
SPECIAL MOMENTS
Turning away from scandals, there were also several special moments that SHINee experienced since their debut. Remember their first win on M! Countdown? The boys’ single “Love Like Oxygen” was #1 on the charts, and the members sobbed uncontrollably when their win was announced on Sep 18, 2008.
SHINee also made their Japanese debut in June of 2011 and has since recorded Japanese versions of their hits as well as other songs, including “Dazzling Girl” and “Fire.”
Other than music, one of the most memorable moments for SHINee on TV was on the variety show “Hello Baby.” All the SHINee members showed off their charm as a “Dad,” and Shawols around the world definitely enjoyed watching them fight over the cute Yoogeun!

MEMORABLE QUOTES
Now that we’ve indulged in recollecting SHINee’s past events, let’s read through some of the best quotes made by each SHINee member!
“Even though we cannot communicate using the same language, we use music instead.” – Jonghyun
“So my dream isn’t to become the ‘best,’ it’s to be someone who I’m not ashamed to be.” – Key
“Fight something as if it is your last fight, as if there would be no more chance to do it later.” – Minho
“I want to be young for the longest time possible.” – Onew
“I think that everyone in this world should be loved.” – Taemin
Happy 5th anniversary to SHINee again! As we look back on the last 5 years, we also look forward to the next 5 years to come!
